Marriage Jersey 1858
« on: Sunday 10 July 22 17:23 BST (UK) »
Is anyone able to help me please.  There was a marriage between a William Long and Charlotte Phillpott on 16 May 1858 St Helier.
I would like to know who William's father was and his occupation if available - to find out if it is my William.

Can you check Robert Longs Marriage please Rosie 5 Jan 1862 St Helier?

This appears to be the Family in Honiton in 1841
John Leng 44 Shoemaker
Sarah Leng 30
George Leng 14
Mary Leng 12
William Leng 10
Elizabeth Leng 7
Robert Leng 4

Seems to much of a coincidence they are in Jersy 1851.
Although Williams Marriage has his Father as a Labourer he may have been temporarily out of work as a Shoemaker for awhile?

1851 in Jersey;
John Long 52   Head Shoemaker
Sarah Long 45   Wife
Robert Long 15   Son
All born England

You could be right Trish a few trees have William Long who married Charlotte Phillpott 1858 Channel Island as the son of John and Sarah Wynn. William and Charlotte are on the census records 1861 Channel Island the they are in Southampton Hampshire on later records ..Pitman did John Long marry again ?
