Wish I had more information.. it’s not through lack of trying!
Patrick’s death certificate lists his occupation as farmer. A funeral notice says he was a brother in the IOOF. That’s all I know about him.
None of the children’s births were registered, and I haven’t had any luck getting any baptism records from the church.. do I need to slip them some $?
- Daughter Alice married Thomas O’Brien in 1888 at St Patrick’s, Adelaide, aged 25.. they were dairy farmers.
- Daughter Johanna married Henry Smith, labourer, in 1884 at Marion, aged 26
- Daughter Mary didn’t marry
- Son James must’ve died as an infant, as the name was re-used
- Son James Patrick was a bootmaker and petty thief who did a few stints in the clink before disappearing off the radar
- Son Patrick J married (I assume, but can’t find ANY record) Annie Gooley and had 10 kids, firstly in SA’s mid north, before settling in Adelaide. He was variously a labourer, a bullock drover, and a salaried horse racing tipster.
His death record at Little Sisters of the Poor has his mother as MARY Healy.
Not sure what to make of that..
I have DNA matches with descendants of Alice and Patrick Jnr.
Really just clutching at straws now 😕
