Looking for Ethel Lever, who had a son at Simpson Hill birthing center in 1942 (later adopted).

Hello Jeffrey,

I've edited your post to remove private information.

In terms of identifying Ethel, there are previous threads on Simpson Hill that suggest this was primarily a maternity home for single mothers - most of them relatively young.

Hi
Not sure if it's your woman but there is a Ethel Samuel who married a Norman H Lever Sep 1939 at Heywood .
She is on the 1939 index as Samuel born 14.4.1911 with parents Mendel and Annie. She is a medical student.
It looks as though the couple must have divorced or split up with her dying as Ethel Jane Samuel Jan 1987 born 14 April 1911 in Preston and South Ribble.

But then how would her maiden name be Lever?

Another family tree has her as Ethel Lever a typist for the Post Office born 9.9.1917 in Salford ,mother Walker who married a Harold Royale June 1948 Manchester.
The tree is on Ancestry ,I'd be inclined to ask them where they got the info from.
