Jacjella that's really useful I thought you could only comment if the tree owner had already commented .

I hope to use that in future if I spot glaring mistakes .

On the top right of the profile page click the button marked Tools, then click second line View Comments.  Correct information, best with sources, can be added.

Can help to point other researchers in the right direction. Also can relieve frustration about poorly researched and oft copied trees!

I use this regularly and have had some wonderful feedback. Some reply by PM, others post another comment. Have also used the Comments section to add extra information about the specific person, place or source docs.

Ware was it?   Wareites Unite (again!)
Oh gosh, amazing how time flies. We had a wonderful time with wonderful people. Would be great to meet again but Covid has ruined that idea for the last few years. Ware there's life there's hope - maybe 2027 ... 20 yr reunion!  ;D

I’ve just spent a few minutes adding comments with corrections to a tree whose owner has ignored messages. I hadn’t known one could do that until I saw this topic. Probably nothing will come of it. But it was quite satisfying!

I does indeed seem like yesterday and I have still got no further with William Barrett born c1780 probably Great Parndon died 1858 Ware or his wife Mary Howard born c 1780 Stanstead Abbotts died 1829 Broxbourne.  Talk about brickwalls.  :-)

Much too hot to go outside today, I popped out to do some watering about an hour ago and nearly fried, good job I have plenty of things to do indoors.

I'm not sure about anyone else btut I've often found a correlation between the owner of a questionable tree and their ability to connect with others who take everything at face value as being correct and happily copy it.

One from the past springs to mind who has a dedicated little army of followers, none can prove the gateway ancestor to a minor titled family but are quick to dismiss the registers I have (complete with the father's somewhat unusual occupation noted on each) to dismiss the claim.  Often my lack of a DNA test is thrown up, it may show we all share a pedigree ancestor but it would do little to show who lies before the documented events as recent as the 1840's.  As the 'titled' family don't seem to appear in the DNA results that have been taken I'm always amused how strongly the other tree owners suddenly resort to DNA not being perfect and there's obviously an error somewhere in the testing process  :D Safe to say brick walls and banging my head against them are not in my top ten hobby list, questions of how my numerous trees and decades long presence in the online genealogy forums and tree hosting sites has led to so little contact from other tree owners is a mystery I shall doubtless never answer.
