Letter from WWI
« on: Friday 15 July 22 18:40 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone could decipher what this letter says as I am struggling with the handwriting.  It appears to be from my great grandfather and I'm guessing it has something to do with over staying leave .

Thanks in advance

Some faded parts I have had difficulty reading but as a start, here goes (excluding the Address).

"It is now two years since I went on active service having been in Mesopotamia, Egypt, and now France and this is the first leave I hagve had - 14 days expiring on the 13th inst.  (?0 by trade (?0 before I went away I arranged for the (class?) of goods I dealt in to be saved pending my return.  I find now that they have so accumulated that the Manufacturer requires their removal or I shall lose them and I hafve to find stores for them & get them away.  This will take some little time and I was wondering if you could (?) (?)

I'll be surprised if anyone can make sense of this 2nd page to be honest as it seems to be badly faded

end of page 1:
I was wondering if you could grant

Page 2
me a short extension of leave
for that purpose so that I may
have something to come to should
I be lucky enough to get through.
