That is interesting.  I wonder could my transcription agent shed some light on this perhaps.  I would like to see that death record I think.

I believe the name Rachel as mother is interesting as this could have been mixed up with the mother of his wife Audrey DEAKIN whose mothers name was Rachel!!

What happened in this family in 1987?.....when someone needed documentation to show...what?...that Hubert Gavan CHARLES was dead?...some detail about his origins?

Sometimes retrospective creation/amendment of records is needed eg. applying for a passport, when marriage certificate has details that differ from birth certificate.

Just an example, but such handling of records does occur.

HI I just heard back from my transcription agent and this is what she said -

Yes, NO. 101 relates to the particular District.

Hopefully at some stage I will have a list.

Well we thought that anyway!  LOL  Must be something new? Not sure as this is an old record.  I will most probably end up ordering it.  Regards Dianna

The marriage record, 1930, on Ancestry, has a signature for Hubert.

The Newcastle University Library has the marriage registers for Hamilton.  It can't hurt to ask what the chances are of getting a scan of the register to see the signature on the 1932 marriage to Auldrey.

Hi Debra thank you for the link.  I will definitely contact them I tried to find the records for the Methodist Church in Hamilton church yesterday but went around in circles. That would be fantastic to see an original signature for the marriage to AULDREY.  Thanks so much.  Regards Dianna

The marriage for Hubert and Auldrey nee Deakin say's married at The Parsonage 49 Gordon Avenue HAMILTON, Methodist.  I googled all around yesterday trying to find where these Methodist records maybe to no avail.  I even Google Earthed the location for the address!  Looked like an old house to me!  Anyway thanks for your time.  Kindest regards Dianna

HI I have sent an email/request to the Newcastle Uni ALSO looks like the name HUBERT G CHARLES on some electoral rolls has been misspelt as HERBERT G CHARLES.  3 in Newcastle area!  Interesting.

Good to add to the timeline! Also to place the Hubert?? Charles in the neighbor hood of future wife AULDREY DEAKIN C 1930.  Regards Dianna
