Thomas Key
« on: Thursday 04 August 22 10:04 BST (UK) »
I have been looking for the marriage of Thomas Key to Elizabeth in an around Norwich(probably) in about 1750/51.
Their children seem to have been born c1752 -1758 and baptised in st Peter Mancroft, Norwich.
There seems to be an earlier Thomas and Elizabeth having children baptised there from c1740. It could potentially be the same couple. But the problem remains the same in that I can't see a likely marriage. I can find a Thomas Dey marrying an Elizabeth Lacey or a Thomas Keed marrying Eliza  and wondered if they might be mistranscribed or misheard by the clerk. Has anyone any ideas?

Many thanks
B

Marriage may be earlier than 1751 if this is their Burials;

Burials;
St Peter Mancroft, Norwich

THOMAS Key 26 Jan 1764 age 57 (1707)
ELIZABETH Key 2 May 1778 , Widow of Thomas, age 65 (1712)
(Source FreeREG)

This would make Elizabeth 46 when last child was born c 1758

William KEY, infant Burial   1 Oct 1742   Norwich : St Peter Mancroft : Parish Register.

I think the repeat baptisms of Anne & Joseph may be because the Registers may not have been clear, see freereg.

That looks promising. It's a marriage licence bond.
Thomas Key is a Hatter :-\ of St Peter Mancroft

As to a marriage entry
Nearest so far is
Thomas Cane + Elisabeth Ellit
23 Sep 1733, Bracon Ash

EDIT
Bond was dated 22 Sep and says marriage will be at St Peters or at Bracon Ash
Add in the Bracon Ash BT

EDIT
Bond was dated 22 Sep and says marriage will be at St Peters or at Bracon Ash

So on the marriage record Thomas is recorded as Cane instead of Key!
