« on: Friday 12 August 22 19:11 BST (UK) »
I am looking at a John William Chelton who was sent to Wandsworth Prison in 1863.

Attached is a zoomed in view of the stated nature of offense, please could somebody help me understand what it says?

Hi, and welcome.

The first word (abbreviation) is Stg - Stealing. It usually appears many times on documents of this kind.

So it's 'Stealing some Onions Growing', meaning he took them from someone else's plot/garden/farm rather than from a shop.
