Finding Hezekiah Henley
« on: Wednesday 17 August 22 16:19 BST (UK) »
Need sourced info for the illusive Hezekiah Henley ( 1580 or 1585 ) - 1658

Born in Cuckfield, Haywards Heath, Mid Sussex, West Sussex, England

Death Jamestown, James City County, Virginia, United States of America

Said to be the son of Thomas Hendley 1554 and Ann Bowyer
This is not correct. Unless you can prove otherwise.
Have found no records anywhere stating he is Thomas' son.

Been looking for years.

Thank You.  ???

What were the names of his children?
Did any of his siblings/wife/parents go Virginia with him?
When did he go?

Can you please list the Henley wills that you have read?

Is there more recent information than the Virginia Gen Soc quarterly which just has Hezekiah named without proof as an English Forbear?

Very little is known of this person, if he ever existed.
No info on wife.

Father listed in above post but according to "The Visitation of Kent 1619-1621” by John Philipot, published in London in 1898, on page 95

is not listed as being a son.

Children unknown but connected to my family tree on FamilySearch is said to be the father of

Thomas Osborne Henley 1610-1655 married in 1633 to Elizabeth Reynolds (1617-1660)

This is all the info I have been able to find.

I guess I'm really asking for a connection between Thomas Osborne Henley and England.

It looks like Sir Thomas 1580 inherited property in Cuckfield from a Bowyer uncle, so some family connection to the area through his mother. His will is available from TNA. Download free after registering for a free account.
