It may not be.
I just posted it for you to compare the similarities.

There is a bit of a tree for Richard George Beach with a 1911 reference. I considered carefully whether to post the info but ‘Arnold Wimbold’ persuaded me to post for your consideration.

Also in Thorpe in 1871 - Julia Maria Haugood, 14    Niece to the Clark(e) family at the Rose and Crown. Born Stanground, Northants. Her age might explain why they slipped off to London to marry

Piece:    1297
Folio:    8
Page number:    12

Julia actually seems to have been born Smith - Mrs  Clark was born Sophia Smith and here they are together in Northamptonshire in 1861

Samuel Smith    66    Head
Mary Smith   53    Wife
Sophia Smith   15    Daughter
Julia Smith    4    Granddaughter b Stanground, Hunts (transcribed as Stoneyround Hamps)

How have you ruled him out? Have you found him and Julia later?

Trying to follow Julia to rule this couple in or out. From a baptism her mother was Mary, who was single  but later married Thomas Hawgood. Found them in 1881, but no Julia or Beach grandchildren

I don’t imagine that Arnold Wimbold was a popular name in any regard so it’s very possible that this could be it but there’s something there we don’t know about. Thanks!

It’s difficult because Julia can’t yet be found.
If she were an ‘abandoned’ wife in a census, it would be easy to think that he had changed his surname after the marriage split in order to marry bigamously.

It might also be that she left him but then there would be no need to change his name.

A puzzle  :-\

In all the records I have Richard’s name is listed as Richard Thomas, so if this is him I have no idea where George came from. This is a total mystery!

Might be worth noting that I have a record for Richard Thomas with wife Florence and their 2 eldest children in 1881, but haven’t been able to find him in 51, 61 and 71.
