Yes you are right it looks to be Grove not Groves

I just went to Ancestry for which I do have a subscription until today and found a tree that says Robert's parents were John Groves born abt 1818 in PA and Elizabeth Groves born 1820 in PA but not sure if that is her maiden name. But this now fully eliminates any thought that he belonged to the Brookfield John and Elizabeth.
Tree says Mary Jane Groves's  parents were David Groves and Susannah Weaver and that David was born abt 1805 in PA.
I guess my subscription does not entitle me to see Fold3 records.

Wow, that is quite the find. Seems like David's name could have been Grove, instead of Groves. But then again, maybe not.
If you are thinking on my Margaret Jane, no, she was not known as Mary Jane. She was born abt 1803 in Ireland, don't know parents but thinking she is connected to the Brookfield Township Groves. She married James Johnston abt 1822 in Ireland, emigrated to Bytown, Ontario in 1826, and died in 1845.
I have been frantically trying to find someone else on my tree who died in Clearfield, Butler, PA. Wasn't David. Oh found it. Was John Leacock, wife Margaret nee Leacock. Possibly Mar 12,1853.
Anyway, David was born abt 1805 in PA. Wonder when he died - thinking to find out parents. Susannah died 1891 - could find out if she was a widow then.

Great, RJ. I found Susan McElroy's death and it says parents David Groves and Susan Wendell. There seems to be those trees that have Weaver and those have Wendell.
