If she married John Brown (1891) then she is possibly in Kings Meadow Road, Nottingham in 1901 age 68 born Lenton

She is still alive in 1911 as a widow, occupation lace drawer

    Thank you both very much for all this information. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together... it's also much clearer now why it 's so hard to find information, he changed his name in the census records...

Charles picked up everything and just left in Belgium. He married here in june 1849 and left his wife and 2 year old son in november 1849. No one ever heard of him since... When his son wanted to marry in 1870 he had to go to court to make it official that he didn't know where his father was and that he had no contact, so that he was not in the possibility to have his father consent. Only in 1879 Charles' wife here in Belgium could file for devorce because she hadn't heard from her husband for 30 years.

By changing his name he really started over his life...

I saw there are many cemeteries in Nottingham and some very old ones. Is there a website with an inventory of the graves?
