Hi Nick,

Could this 1866 report be about your James Clapham? His obituary mentions that he spent some time in the Nelson district. This may indicate that he arrived in 1862 rather than 1863?

v interesting. If it was him, it certainly fits with the claim in his obituary that he spent first few years after arrival in Nelson and Marlborough districts. Another piece of evidence supporting his initial years were in S Island.
