Hi, and welcome. (I think it's because it's your first post that it's taken a while to appear.)

I'm seeing this as 'formerly Creggan', though the letters of the first word are a bit unclear. However, I can't at the moment think of anything else it could be, and it would make sense if it's in the box for the mother.

I'm seeing the same as arthurk from the snippet you've posted.If the birth certificate is available on Irish Genealogy then you could post a link to it or give us the details (name, registration district, year) so we can take a look at a larger sample of the writing to be sure.
