Only a thought - is there a child of John and Charlotte named John W?

1911 census has  John W - 36 with wife Annie - 30 and married for 8 years, no children.  Living with them are John - 71 - OAP = father, plus Charlotte - 78 = mother - married 39 years, 10 children of whom 5 are still alive.

Yes, that is young Charlotte's brother with his parents.
Charlotte the mother's age is incorrect, I amended it, it should be 64.
I have found the 5 living children, so Charlotte Elizabeth likely one of deceased.

Thank  you  BB,  I will have a look later
Did occur to me the little girl, might be in a school or a residential place
Diana said she was in Beethoven Street school, I lived around  the corner and I can tell,   l you I was terrified of going there, it was a very rough school, fortunately  I didn't go there, had a  20  minute walk instead, was  worth  it

LM - BUT you're not THAT old so the school may have been a lot better, back in the day  :)  Not everywhere has improved through time.  :o

Thanks  for the humour BB!

Yes, the school might well have been better, when I was due to go it was a senior school,  Charlotte would have been in the tinys class

At the moment Diana doesn't know why Charlotte was in Saffron walden,  her father did work on the railways at some stage, perhaps it was an interim address or just a holiday in the country,  I am surprised how big SW was in those days

Yes, you have the right person.  Am researching various branches of this family (mainly the Phipps line which originated in Sussex and is related to me), and have not been able to find Charlotte Elizabeth fitting anywhere except the death in Saffron Walden in 1887.
From my notes:
"She is found in the school admittance records of Beethoven Street School in Westminster for 13 Jul 1887, as Charlotte Elizabeth, daughter of John Drew of 57 Marne Street, presumably Westminster.  Birthdate given as 12 Nov 1879.
She is the only Drew buried in the Saffron Walden cem., according to Find a Grave. No record of burial on Anc. or FamilySearch."
I have no other references to a death of Charlotte Elizabeth Drew that fit for age and cannot find a suitable marriage, nor do I find her in the 1891 with her parents.

I have received the death certificate for Charlotte:

Death date - 15 Sep 1887, Artisans' Buildings, Saffron Walden
Name - Charlotte Elizabeth Drew (female); Age - 7
Daughter of John Drew, foreman at stone works
Cause - probably scarlatina, 2 months, inflammation of the kidneys, 7 days, certified Henry St. G. Boswell.
Informant - Mother, Charlotte Drew, 57 Marne Street, Queen Park Estate, Harrow Road, London.
Registered 16 Sep 1887.

This is indeed my relative, but no further understanding how she ended up in Saffron Walden!  The address her mother supplied is the same address the family was at when Charlotte Elizabeth was registered for school in London a few months before her death.
