It will be interesting to see the next mint and perhaps many will save a coin or two instead of circulating them and not as widely used these days anyway with more cashless transactions.

One off Public Holiday for NZ Monday 26 September announced to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Overnight, 11.59pm 12.9.22 the NZ Covid-19 Protection traffic light setting system ended and all mask wearing requirements removed except in healthcare and aged care facilities. Already hear some will continue with masks by choice in confined areas but no longer mandatory on local public transport, I saw quite a few still wearing them today. New phase for isolation periods and household contact isolation and vaccine mandates ending in a couple of weeks, removal of vaccine requirements for travellers and air crew.

Your mother's injury sounds rather nasty and painful with stitches and bruising PT, does seem though that mending may be quicker than the shower screen! ... Jeff's post sums it up well!

I do feel for the queen's children, particularly Charles and Anne, despite the grief that is clearly etched on their faces they have carried out such onerous duties.

As long as you haven't fallen out with us LM.  :D  The queen's death and news of subsequent events has tended to be central to a lot of our lives recently. There were quite a lot of people on the This Morning programme who commented that they were unexpectedly emotional when they heard the news.

I am generally easy  going so I don’t think I will  be  falling out with anyone Roobarb but  thanks for your concern

I think it is disbelief we are suffering from, having seen her Majesty with our new PM on Tuesday, looking frail   I am  sure none of us could have predicated she would die so soon, but having said that many of us have suffered sudden bereavements

Our new king is 73, I think he could do with a rest, far to much to have to suffer having his own emotions  to deal with, I would like  see a change in these proceedings  so that future monarchs  don't have to go through all of this protocol in future, slim it down a bit

At work yesterday so didn't see any of the footage for Tuesday.

Got home from work to a card through the door from landlord's "scoping officer" saying my repair request has been cancelled because I was not home for the "appointment that had been arranged". They may have arranged it but not with me as I knew nothing about it.  I am now in breach of tenancy for not facilitating an arranged appointment.  I honestly don't understand why I have to prove the shower screen is broken for a third time when nothing has been done to fix it in the interim and has been confirmed by their own staff.  If they do agree to the repair request being logged this will now be the 5th day I've had to stay in the whole day for and then a 6th for the actual repair.  They are now no longer obliged to log the repair as the way it is recorded it is now logged that I have broken the same fitting 3 times in the same year even though it is an old fitting (older than 15yr) that has broken once and never been fixed.  They say they can't put it through as the same repair otherwise it will look like they didn't fix it.  The fact the didn't is apparently irrelevant.

I know people will see my feelings as proof of people my generation refusing to take responsibility, but I am so sick of having to take on everyone else's share of responsibility and failing miserably.  I am so tired, yes I know that's a sign of how lazy I am.

I have watched today on TV  the Queen being  taken to St  Margaret's hall, what a moving   experience,  how on earth does the royal family find the strength,  very moving, I hope they have a few days away  in time for Mondays ceremony,  that also will  be very  moving
