Joseph Newland circa 1700 possibly Mundesley Area Norfolk
« on: Tuesday 13 September 22 07:16 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a baptism for him.
It is thought that he was born in the Mundesley or Trunch area in Norfolk.
He married a Mary Kibbet in Mundesley 10th Jan 1725/1726
This date has been taken from Marriages at Mundesley 1724 to 1812. (England, Phillimore Marriage Registers, 1531-1913). Norfolk Marriage Registers, Vol 3

freereg
Mary KIBBET to Joseph NEWLAND Marriage   10 Jan 1726   Norfolk   Mundesley : All Saints : Archdeacon's Transcript
Both of the parish at the time of marriage.

John Newland   Christening 3 October 1726 Mundesley, NorfolkParentsJoseph Newland, Mary

Then a gap: Thom. Newland Christening 3 September 1739 Mundesley,

Possible burial but no age.
Joseph NEWLAND   Burial   25 Oct 1778   Norfolk   Mundesley : All Saints : Archdeacon's Transcript

A tree on Ancestry suggests Joseph was born 1704 Mundesley, but no evidence.

No baptism that I can see in Norfolk, on Ancestry, freereg or family search, but others elsewhere, mostly quite distant, the only one I can see with father John below.

Freereg, also on family search.
Joseph NEWLAND Baptism   19 Feb 1699 Lincolnshire   Sibsey : St Margaret : Parish Register
Father John, notes Received Alms (Others note John as a Labourer)

Another Joseph in the County.

Martha PEGSON to Joseph NEWLAND   Marriage   3 Oct 1728   Norfolk   West Walton : St Mary : Parish Register

Image of the original parish register is on ancestry, doesn't give anymore information
Baptism, deaths and marriages all on the same page.

Joseph Newland and Mary Kibbet were married January 10th.

John the son of Joseph and Mary Newland baptized  October 3 1726

scrolled forward a few pages and didn't see any other baptisms for the couple

ADDED the AT's has additional information that they were both of the parish.

Do you know a Christina Sharpe
her tree has this

Joseph Newland
Born in 1700 - Mundesley, Norfolk, England
Deceased

Spouses and children
With Mary Kibbet 1704- with
M John NEWLAND 1726-1807
F Mary NEWLAND 1733-
M Thomas NEWLAND

as she has John Newlands death as well I would presume she is descended from John ??
