Henry Forbes Harding
« on: Wednesday 14 September 22 19:06 BST (UK) »
was born 1877-1879.

He is listed in the C of E Births and Baptisms Manchester England 1813-1915 but I can't access these records - need help with the finding the name of his parents.

He is also listed in the Criminal Records but his parents names have been redacted - why would their names have been redacted?

Many thanks.

He married in Nottingham in 1903. That record would hopefully give his father’s name.
There are several newspaper snippets on FindMyPast about his crime.
Added - I see the records are available so no need for newspaper articles.

I don’t see him in the baptism records. Where did you see that reference?

Thanks,
He was a bit of a ducker and diver! - He gives his father's name as Henry on his marriage certificate but have failed to find his birth certificate.
Having his parent's names from the Baptismal Records should help.

Hi,

According to Habitual Criminal Registers, the name Henry Forbes Harding is an Alias.

His actual name is Charles Henry Harding born 1877 London.

Uk Calendar of Prisoners  Manchester 1904, which lists a lot of offences, perjury by making false
Declaration on marriage as Henry Forbes Harding.  he is aged 32, a Clerk.

So you are looking for a birth in London abt 1877 for a Charles Henry Harding

Exactly what records have you found giving Bpt., in Manchester?  Also in which Criminal records has his parents names been redacted.

There is a reference to Henry Forbes Harding on Ancestry.co, - just the name of his wife and father,
There is also a reference to his name being in the Manchester CofE Births and Baptisms on Ancestry.com. As I don't subscribe to Ancestry I can't access the details on the Baptism Records.

He was a student at Owens College Manchester which I think became Manchester University.  Am following this lead up.

I will also follow up the Holborn birth - thanks

I looked on Ancestry.co.uk but can’t see that baptism.

A published tree shows his wife and father, Henry but no record to support this.
The marriage is mentioned but no details.

I don’t see a baptism record in the Manchester CoR births and baptisms.
