was this the former name of Manchester University?

Are records of students available for the  1895-1897 period available.

I am looking for Henry Forbes Harding born 1877/1879 who was a student at Owens College.

If you google "Owens College Manchester" you will see there are records in existence. An excerpt states "The archive does not include all extant records from the Owens College period. In cases of record series begun by Owens College, and continued by the University of Manchester, these will form part of an appropriate section of the University of Manchester Archives. These records include: student matriculation registers, attendance books, notice of appointment of College staff, exam registers, College accounts, benefaction books, seal registers and records of leases and agreements, as well as the photographic collections, College magazines and journals and students union records. Academic departments constitute discrete archive groups, and these include material dating from the Owens College period e.g. archives of the departments of chemistry, physics, engineering, botany, zoology, education, and extra-mural studies."
Owens College was established in 1851 and incorporated into Manchester University in 1904. Lots more info online

Yes, Owen was Manchester man.
Our houses at school were Owen Dalton  Scott and Cobden .
Notable men ,as we were an all girls’ school we felt the houses ought to have been named after women.!
