Diary summary week ending 25th September - the end of an era

Well the local kids have moved on from chapdoor run to letting the air out the tyres of cars.  It is causing me a lot of stress and feel like crying at the thought of having to get up earlier in the morning to allow for having to inflate the tyres.  I know that it is easy to reinflate tyres and not that big a job but every second counts.  I feel like that game Buckeroo, where adding just one more job, even a small one could make everything tip.

Found a wedding photo for my tree yesterday.  The flower girl and page boy looked like they had been bickering, would love to know what about.

Nothing much to report just housework, homework for kids.

That was called “ Knock a door run “ in Manchester .
I never played it but another game was similar ,a button was threaded on strong black cotton ,tied to a lamppost or similar and  never having played it no idea how it tapped on a house window when the naughty kids were round the corner -out of sight.!
Very aggravating to the occupants .

Doesn’t it all seem flat - all the pomp and ceremony over , and a “ presence”
many have known all their lives gone .
Well H,M certainly did an excellent job,and then some.

Pointer busy ,what he has done up to now does look good .
Locksmith here this morning ,the kitchen doors/ French window lock on one side had seized up. All done and dusted and OK.
The windows/ doors were part of the refurbishment ,not done by me ,when I say that the trade name of the firm is a phonetic spelling you can guess they are not  the  best quality !
Mind you other than Henry the over the lane cat ,there have been no intruders ,no lions ,tigers ,buffalo , gorillas, I must not complain.

Sunny but cool,at least dry, I want this work finished and all tidied up asap, I
need  to tidy the  garden and have ordered a new cover for my little greenhouse .
Soon time to plant bulbs.
Gosh how time flies ,Summer has flown by .

Hope all are well ,lots of improvement in those with long term illness.

Seem to hear quite a bit more neighbourhood crime issues just lately, inconveniencing others with breaking into cars or intruding on property, stealing mail etc but also a rash of youth ram raids on businesses. NZ PM hitched a ride from London with Canadian PM to the United Nations General Assembly in New York meeting other world leaders while her partner came back as far as Australia with their PM.

I'm sure everyone closely involved with the ceremony are ready for some down time, including the family themselves of course. Also PT, nothing wrong with less full on weekends for your daughter and a luxury really as you would appreciate yourself to have leisurely activity, some of her reading compulsory I guess, in time can develop other interests independently and in meantime into rests between studies and being helpful with shopping errands nothing to be ashamed of, and the odd treat outing more appreciated as per Ruskie's policy.

I'll have some of your good wishes for improvement Viktoria as  for a 3rd thing this past week I woke with a black left eye this morning and blowed if I know why and can only assume I have applied too much pressure with knuckle rubbing it or something.
Last Wednesday I strained jaw on the left side biting on something unexpectedly hard* and that has improved but still hurts to yawn and on Sunday I was seeing stars when I caught top of head upper left on a branch and that's been quite tender but fortunately no broken skin but no sense knocked into me either! Husband would have had trouble finding me if I had properly slunk to the ground as behind lots of foliage in the furthest corner. 
*That something hard was the head of a small chocolate lamb he bought me! ...moulded with 2 pieces joined together to make it 3D and was at room temperature. We visited a very nice handcrafted chocolate place when we went north last week and he got hooked on a massive chocolate fish and I was happy just looking and having a hot chocolate in the cafe but he added the little 3 pack of lambs, as in Mary had a little lamb, to his purchase ... anyway the other 2 met with little resistance, to the bite and in demolishing them over the weekend so as not to get lost in cupboard  and he's finished his fish as well.

Well today looked like I'd had a right fisticuffs with widened area of black eye and quite a bruiser, thought perhaps a knock-on effect of the bump on head as all same side, called in to medical centre on way home today and spoke to a nurse who agreed it would be related trauma. No other unusual issues but to watch out for any, so keeping an eye on it!

Pouring down here which is nor good as my windscreen wipers failed on the way to work. Sitting waiting for the AA bricking it about hoe much trouble I'm in when I eventually get there.

Mare your eye sounds very dramatic .it must have been strange to wake up with black eye not having hit it directly.

choc lambs and fish are impressive consumable artwork . !

Pharma hope the AA sorts you out soon .

Mare, I sent a post asking did you perhaps sleep walk ,I believe it is possible for that to happen and some people don’t know, but a bump or something would surely wake you up.
It needs investigating.
I wished you better health but where it has gone I do not know.
So Better Health !

P.S.When I stood up too quickly some time ago ,I went all wobbly and bumped my forehead ,hairline ,on the sharp crisp edge of new door architrave.
Wow, ten rounds with Sunny Liston, the bruise sank right down to my mouth,all round my eye etc,lBkack blue purple green yellow!
But I knew it would ,no soft flesh in that area.
Hope it doesn’t happen to you again .

At Eye Dept today pressure in L eye 20 ,Specialist not pleased  !
So the operation to detach a tube to my eye to be done again ,seemingly it was only partial detatchment  last time.
So all the drops again for weeks and weeks ,op in November so Christmas?
And I have not been down to Suffolk for ages ,I must try to get down before the op.
Doesn’t it all seem flat, but didn’t we do it well!

Cheerio, hope those not well feel better, and long term and chronic cases some easing at least.

Thank ye kindly each, slightly more colourful today but otherwise all OK ... as well as putting on a mask for the first time during week and checking with the nurse at clinic while out yesterday, also asked uncle google last night which mentioned eye blackening can come 1 - 3 days following head injury and it was 3 days. Still a tender bump just beyond hairline, I was stooping and walking in awkward part of garden around the growth and had the almost permanent accessory plastic framed cheap glasses perched on head which dug in rather painfully when made contact with the branch. All quite unexpected, didn't see it coming for me  no idea I'd have the related bruising showing lower down face at all, if I'd bumped nose or closer to eye I may have. Don't think I've become too unhinged over it, jaw still feels it tried to and taking bit of time to come right.

Have a good weekend and I follow the well wishes to those with bigger things of concern. We have a long weekend with the public memorial holiday on Monday in NZ, also our clocks go forward over the weekend which will help I guess having time to adjust start of the new week. Last week of term 3 before school holidays ...

There is an absolute stinker of a Cold and Sore Throat going around, along with diarrhoea for a few hours on Day 1, thrown in too

LF Test gave Covid negative.

Day 3 any coughing is a productive wet cough.
