So sorry i was convinced i had given their names, would have been helpful!

The parents names were a Charles Kelly and Bridget McPadden
They came to Scotland by 1861 with their 6 children, Mary, John, Michael, Catherine, Myles and Bridget
This record was for one of the 3 children they had in Scotland afterwards

Just taking the time to reply with your opinions on what the town could be alone is really helpful, thank you again (:

I always wonder if I was from a small townland in Ireland and someone in Scotland asked where I was from, would I be more likely to give the townland, or a neighbouring big town, or indeed the county.

That said, it does look like Inch to me, or a really badly written Cork. The surname would help as many names were more likely to be in one place than another.

Iíve actually wondered the same thing once or twice haha, thank you for the reply!

In 1861, the family are in Edinburgh.
Charles and Bridgetís birthplace has been transcribed as ĎLeibriní , which I would think is Leitrim.
You might be able to get a better idea from the census in Scotlands People.

If Charles & Bridget married, the info. when/where married should be on the BCs of the children born in Scotland.
Have you checked them all as the info. may be clearer on the other 2?

Annoyingly the birth records for the children born in Scotland with their marriage info arenít really readable due to ink smudges but will definitely try look again, thank you!

Feel free to post here.

Don't forget, if you download images in another format rather than pdf, you can then adjust the contrast to suit &/or use the 'invert colours' option, all very helpful for reading which can't be done on a pdf. image.

McPadden in Leitrim is fairly concentrated in the Innismagrath parish area pre 1850.
