Birth : Dorothy EDMONDSON - reg. at Lancaster, Lancashire, 2Q - 1914.
Arrived with her parents and sister as assisted immigrants into Wellington, NZ on 21 June 1915 by the "Remuera".

[ * Her father John Hodgson EDMONDSON was for the most part a Methodist minister. That he is listed as a "farmer" may have been in order to comply with the requirements of a subsidised passage. Of note also is that the 79 assisted immigrants on this voyage of the "Remuera" (travelling as they were in war time), all had relatives who were already established in New Zealand. To minimise the risk of attack from a German submarine, the "Remuera" was escorted down the Channel from London, arriving at Plymouth, where the emigrants eventually embarked. ]
The EDMONDSON parents are shown on electoral rolls as having lived in various towns in the North Island over the years. 1919 - at Ngaruawahia - and in same year a move to Port Albert (Kaipara, Northland). 1922 - Ohaeawai (Bay of Islands, Northland) : 1925 - Bombay (Waikato district) : 1928 and 1931 - at Foxton and at Halcombe (Manawatu) : 1935 - Methodist Parsonage at Rotorua : 1938 - Waerenga (near Te Kauwhata) - Hauraki District : 1940's - at Albany (Auckland region).
