Hi,

Struggling to work out the cause of death on this little boys record?  I've tried to decipher as in the title, however, if someone else could shed light on the exact wording and then a rough description of what it was that killed him, it would be most appreciated - I believe Enteritis concerns the gut?

Thanking you in anticipation  :)

Could be epidemic enteritis. As you say, enteritis applies to the gut, so maybe there was an epidemic (possibly local) of something causing diarrhoea at the time.

Thank you Annie - that makes sense!  Underneath it also states exhaustion so I did think diarrhoea related...thank you!  On further looking Epidemic Enteritis  I did find the following in the BMJ from 1904
