John James Dorrington
« on: Sunday 02 October 22 10:25 BST (UK) »
John James Dorrington...born Dec 1/4 1910 in Biggleswade.  Parents John James Dorrington b.1884 and Florence Dorrington b 1874.

Cannot find this family on the 1911 census.  (On the 1912 Electoral Registers John James Dorrington is at West*** Street and Florence in Hardwicke Shefford.)

Cannot find ref to the birth of the father John James Dorrington (b.1884) and I can't find him on the censuses of 1891 and 1901. Cannot find ref to the marriage of John J D and Florence.

The parents John J D and Florence D died in 1960 and 1956 respectively - the son John J D died in 1993 in Bedford.

(a familiar surname but a completely new search!)    Thanks.

Transcribed as DARRINGTON - James, Florina, Florence May and John James  :)

Added - that version on FindMyPast.  Ancestry have correct spellings for all family members.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

You can use https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp to find his mmn then look for a marriage on freebmd

Use the wildcard search facility for earlier censuses d*r*in*on in case of mis-spelling

Birth registrations for John James (1910) and Florence May show mother's maiden name as Ward.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
