Kia ora

This document is headed
Barons depositions exon of Phillip Bode and other touching goods of William Chester
This is 31 pages long.  I am not asking or expecting anyone to transcribe this, but I would like to know the guts of it, what it is about, something to do with his will, or the dispersal of his goods I think.  I could not load the whole thing in one go so I will put up quite a few separate postings.  According to me he was

Sir William Chester (1509) married Lady Elizabeth Lovett (1487) and they had eight children: Lady Jane Chester born 1425. John Chester, William Chester d.14 April 1608 (m.Judith Cave) Rev. Thomas Chester 1540c London, d.June 1584 Killiathan, County Galway, Ireland.  Susanna Chester 1545 (m.John Trott), Leonard Chester 1545 Blaby, Leicestershire,
and 2 more daughters.
Sir William Chester then married Joan Turner 10 November 1567 (daughter of John Turner of London and widow of William Beswicke, alderman and draper of London)
Elizabeth Chester (Lovett) died in 1560
Joan Chester (Turner) died 1572
Sir William Chester died 1575 buried at St Edmund’s, Lombard Street, London.  The church was destroyed in 1666 in the Great Fire of London.

Presumably it’s this?
https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C5920890

At a very quick look, I can’t see any Latin (as suggested by your other posts) – only English.

It’s a series of depositions (witness statements) answering individual questions put by the Court of the Exchequer in connection with the estate of Sir William Chester. It isn’t easy to summarise this sort of document, especially as the original questions aren’t included. I’m afraid I don’t have time to go through it, but someone else might.

Sir William Chester is pretty well documented online …

What further information are you trying to find out?

Many thanks for taking a look at it, I couldn't see anything really readable but clearly I need to go through it again properly.  Any names and anything else really.  I purchased it so I thought I better make the most of it.  I have someone who will transcribe for me in English.  I have looked at all the on-line information about him.  He died intestate.

Apologies

Re. William Chester and Elizabeth Lovetts 's children, Thomas Wotton in his 1741 "The English Baronetage; ..." refers to 5 sons (William, Thomas, John, Daniel, Francis) and 4 daughters (Frances, Jane, Emma and Susan).

William Chester and Joan Turner (widow of William Beswick) had no issue.
