Whiteoak / Smith Family from Mellor Nr Blackburn

I'm looking for the Smith Family formerley know as Whiteoak.

On the 1911 Census they were living in Blackburn, Lanchashire
Parish  - Blackburn
Sub - District Blackburn South Eastern
Sub- District 6
District Number 474
Enumeration District 8 

Household John Smith Head Male 63 Born Lothersdale Yorkshire
                Jane Smith Wife  Female  59 Born Long Preston
                Mary Ellen Smith Female 25 Born Barnoldswick

I don't know what the Sub Districts etc refer too and I would like to find an address and also where they could have moved to in the future.  Wish they they had stayed as Whiteoak's easier to trace than SMITH!

Any assistance would be great as I can't follow the census or even read them

The address on the 1911 census that you have quoted is
137 Alker Strret, Blackburn.

Why do you think the name was previously Whiteoak?

Using a free search for John born Lothersdale Yorkshire  John Smith is easily found in the 1921 census living with a Mary Ellen still and still living in Blackburn

John and Jane should both have been on electoral registers from 1918 onwards. Although with such common names you would need to have an idea of where there were living.
When were they in Mellor?

Not sure.  Thought it was 1911 Census but was given that info from someone so not sure how good that is.
