Brown family 1861 and 1871
« on: Tuesday 06 September 05 06:09 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to look for the Brown family in LLandugwyth for me. I have their details in 1881 and know what happen to the son George but would like to fill in some other gaps.

Father Henry born in Pembrokeshire about 1822.
Mother Elizabeth born Cenarth 1822
Daughter Susannah 1859 Cardigan
Son George born 1861 Cardigan

SUsannah Brown married WIlliam Pugh in 1881. THey were my great grand-parents. THey had four children, Elizabeth Charlotte (known as Lottie) who died in 1910 aged 27, Sarah Helena (Lena) who died in 1975 having never married, George Ernest who emigrated to Canada, and William Henry (my grandfather). There is a memorial stone to all 4 in the graveyard at Llandygwydd.

Susan Pugh and William Pugh are interred at Llandygwydd as are Henry and Elizabeth Brown (Susan's parents) Elizabth Brown was born in Cenarth in 1821 -Her name was Elizabth Williams.

William Pugh (married to Susannah (or Susan) Brown) was headmaster of Llandygwydd school for 42 years. He also played the church organ for 50 years. I have a picture of the house they used to live in
