Good evening,

There are indeed womens Masonic Lodges, they run along exactly the same lines as their male counterparts.

The Order of Women Freemasons
Freemasonry for Women (previously HFAF)

Based in London are https://www.owf.org.uk/about-us/who-s-who/

I can find no masonic badges or awards like the one on the ladies dress.

In the USA I think there are more such as Jobs Daughters who have lodges all over the USA.

Wonder if it is “ The Mons Star” awarded after a desperate WW1battle,at Mons ,N.France.
I am going to look it up.
Viktoria.
No not that, sorry.
Perhaps she was a Nurse or with The British Red Cross or St. John Ambulance Brigade.,although that is a Maltese Cross. V

Hi Viktoria,

Thanks for the reply, It's a possibility she worked for one of these. I don't currently have much info about where she worked. The only thing I know is that she took in children/refugees during the second world war. I couldn't find any rewards for such a service though.

Thanks,

Robbie

Good evening,

What is your GGrandmothers name and do you know if she served with any civilian organisations during WW. Or did she do factory work of some kind for the war effort.

John915

Hi John, Her name was Mary Jane Baker, The only thing I know she done was take in children/refugees during the second world war. I was thinking it could have been an award related to this but have found no evidence so far.

Thanks,

Robbie

I can't help thinking that it looks too thin and flimsy to be a military medal. A badge of some kind is more likely. Nursing is a good idea, Viktoria, or what about the WVS? (Womens voluntary Service)

I did also think it looked flimsy, it almost looks like the layers of whatever it is aren't secured very well. I have not yet looked at the WVS, I will have to check that out.

Thanks,

Robbie

Hi Sandiep,

I dont think so as my Ggrandfather was in the South Wales Borderers and this doesn't match the regiment bagde.

Thanks,

Robbie
