The Sage Family
« on: Monday 24 October 22 01:06 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find my 4th Great Grandmother Hester Sage{born 1819 in Dundry, Somerset but I have no clue where or when she died} and her parents I know with confidence from the Birth Record that her Mum was Jane{they have her down as her married name Sage} and from her marriage certificate her dad was William Sage.

I also know that Hester Sage married John Baber {born abt 1814 Winford, Somerset, England and died 8th January 1884 at 4 The Nursery, Bedminster, Somerset, England}

Hester Sage and John Baber had a daughter called Jane Baber and she married John Norriss{actual name John R Norriss born 1825 in Christ Church and died 1875 Bristol, Gloucestershire, England}
 and his father was Richard Norriss we think born about 16 Oct 1798 in Croydon, St John, Surrey, England but we have nothing to back it up or prove this

Still looking for Hester's death, but in case you don't have them - other children baptised to William (a sawyer) and Jane SAGE at Dundry -

17 Oct 1818  Hester
 7 Jul 1822  Elizabeth
23 Jan 1825  James
11 Oct 1835  Samuel  (aged 8 )

Do you need any other info re Hester BABER (nee SAGE)? John and Hester are reasonably easy to find in the various census.  :)

I meant to add earlier, there is a marriage of William SAGE and Jane OSWALD on 26 October 1806 by banns (both otp) at St Mary Redcliffe, Bristol. The minister has written "Jane OSWELL", but her signature looks like "Jane OSWALD". Witnesses are James GWYER (I think) and Mary PERRIN. William signs with "x".

A possibility for Hester's parents?
