Hyman (Ivan) Hunt - school records and fostering

Hi newbie here 

Am researching more indepth details of my grandfather's childhood. Know of his birth (1909 in Port Ahuriri) and his birth mother (Margaret Hunt/father unknown). Know that he and older brother (Hector/Mick) were not raised by their mother but fostered out in Wellington area.

Know that his brother Hector (Mick) attended some sort of Industrial School from 1912.

How would I go about finding about Hyman's (Ivan) schooling and fostering history if possible? Have tried to navigate Archway but not sure about protocol of Sensitive records and if I'd be eligible as his granddaughter.

It looks as though Archway has gone and been replaced with a new way of searching their collections.  May I suggest that you contact Archives New Zealand with your query and see whether they can give you the answers that you are looking for.
