Alfred Tring
« on: Friday 04 November 22 06:25 GMT (UK) »
I am seeking information on. Alfred Tring born abt 1866  Paddington.
Parents Frederick Tring and Eliza Jarman.
It is believed that he went to work on the railways abroad (South America?)
There is death record on Ancestry (do not have a source) of Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llove, Mexico ! Family think aged 52 (1918)
Thank You David

Hi David,

You may already have this:

Newspaper item:
Herapath's Railway Journal 21 September 1894

Mr. Alfred Tring, representative of the Great Eastern Rail-
way of Uruguay (Maldonado) has notified Government of the
resumption of the construction works, which have been inter-
rupted since 1891.

Passenger List:
A single male, no age given, Alfred Tring sailed from Southampton to Montevideo, Uruguay on a ship called "Nile", departing 25 Nov 1898.

If the above items are the same fellow, it must not have been the first trip to Uruguay.

Will poke around a bit more!

Found a hint on Ancestry (death) for Gabriela Garcia as a spouse of Alfred Tring (Alfredo Tring) but cannot review it as do not have Worldwide access.
At least we are on the right track!

Hi,

I've found a possible entry for Alfred coming back to England in 1892,

Ship Name:  Liguria
Arrival Date:    10 Mar 1892
Port of Arrival:    Liverpool, England
Port of Embarkation:  Monte Video
Alfred TRING
Single
Age: 30
Traveller
English

The age is  a bit out but it could be him. Then at FindMyPast here is a passenger list entry for Mr A TRIVG leaving later in 1892, but this one shows him as a married foreigner?

Ship name:  Thames
Departure:  28 Jul 1892, from Southampton
Destination Port:  Brazil & River Plate
Cabin Passengers
Mr A TRIVG
Married (under foreigners column)
Contracted to land at:  M Video

Regards,
Daisy

re reply #3

It is in Spanish so I can't read it either.   except this part looks like 14 February 1909

14 de fiebrers de 1909

It's refers to the death of a child named Silverio Tring aged 8 Months son of
Gabriella Garcia and Alfred Tring
