Thank you Ruskie
We have all been OK till today, my son in law  worked at home all week, no idea where we caught it, wonder if it is in the air  but good old fashioned sea air didn't help, so far my daughter and grandchildren and my brother in Teignmouth are all ok

My neighbour  had it in June and was very ill, I just feel as if I have a cold, had all the jabs so perhaps that has put me in good stead

LM so sorry to hear you’ve tested positive, what a shame after such a lovely week last week. I hope you don’t feel too bad and wish you a speedy recovery.

Hope you feel better soon, LM, and it doesn't get worse.  Does seem such a shame after your birthday week.
Also hoping everyone else stays well, this awful thing isn't over yet.

I feel I am fortunate  , I am sure I  have got a very minor dose but I have had all the jabs,  I suppose I have been lucky to have got away with it for so long,  my husband and I aren't really isolating during the day, we can sit quite afar apart in the  lounge, but will sleep apart as that is the closest we would be,  only 1 TV  in the house,  he is not  going to rush out and buy one now

I'm so sorry to hear you've caught the virus LM, particularly after being so careful. I can understand you feeling angry when you've put so much effort into avoiding it all this time, I felt the same when I caught it. Having had the vaccinations will afford you some protection against serious illness, I hope the symptoms stay just cold- like.

You'll have some lovely memories of your birthday week to look back on while you're staying at home.

Sorry to hear you're not well LM.  Hope you're feeling better soon.  Plenty of fluids and paracetamol up to 4 times a day if sore and/or feverish.  But most importantly, plenty of rest as overdoing it when you start to feel better appears to increase the chance of long covid, resting applies to the next few weeks even as you recover so pace yourself.  I've seen people feel a lot better day 4 or 5, over do it and end up floored for a few more days.

Good advice Pharma,  and so sorry LM but glad you enjoyed your Birthday treats before Covid came along .
Hope all stay well .

I have not been posting for a day or so, Apple would not accept my security code for updating.
So felt really miffed!
All sorted now so I am very pleased.

Well, I got mixed up big time today!
Have worked hard to get on top of jobs prior to my eye op on 11th——-
Transport arrived today , I said they had the wrong date .
BUT, it WAS today, what a silly old thing I am ,when I get a new appointment
is anybody’s guess.
I sent the transport away!
Oh dear, the Old Folks’ Home beckons.

Did a lot in the garden today, Rudbeckia! It is now almost on a par with Himalayan Balsam. ,

Strange that people with I think the requisite numbers of boosters etc are falling ill with Covid.
Hope no one else succumbs.

Cheerio everyone.
Viktoria.

At the moment  I feel like one of the lucky  ones  who belongs   to the fully paid up jab brigade,  I don’t feel to bad at all, but I have to isolate,  which even on day one I don't like much, my son in law hasn't had any jabs due to an underlying condition and he has it as well, he  feels as if he has  been "run over by a truck", I hope he will be ok, I am sure the boosters help and perhaps I have a minor dose, I feel downright lazy doing  nothing

Pleased to see you back Viktoria, modern technology flumoxes me quite often

Oh dear, sorry your appt , these things are easily done, hope you don't have to wait to long

Take care everyone
