He is mentioned and testifies in connection with a very complex case in this newspaper article. I can't make any sense of it, but here is a partial transcript including all mentions of Camus

Liverpool Albion - Saturday 03 April 1875

Quote
NISI PRIUS COURT-MONDAY.
THE AMOURS OF A LIVERPOOL TRADESMAN. ALIEN V. RAY.—This action was brought by Mr. Edgar Allen to recover from William Ray the sum of £700 alleged to have been lent to him. Mr. Benjamin, Q.C., and Mr. M'Connell were counsel for the plaintiff, and the defendant was represented by Mr. Russell, Q.C., and Mr. James. In opening the case, Mr. Benjamin stated that the plaintiff was a purser on board the Lady Jocelyn one of a line of steamers sailing from London, and the defendant a partner in the firm of Messrs. Ray and Miles, of Boldstreet and London-road, Liverpool. The plaintiff's wife, who was the daughter of a licensed victualler named Marshall, who belonged to this town, received certain sums of money from her husband, her father, and the executors of her husband's father, the total amount being £700.

(lots of detail edited out)

Mrs. Allen, the wife of the plaintiff, was the first witness called. Answering interrogatories by. Mr. Benjamin, she confirmed his opening statement. In cross-examination by Mr. Russell, Mrs. Allen said she told her husband last summer that she had lent the money to Mr. Ray. He was angry, but the matter passed, and he said no more about it.

Did Mr. Louis Phillipe Camus live in your house in Warwick-street ?—He did.
Did you ever have any improper intimacy with him ? No.
How long did he live in your house ?—About four years.
Have you advertised in the newspapers, or has your attorney done so, that if Mr. Camus would apply to Mr. Peter Vine, accountant, Dale-street, he would hear of something to his advantage ?—I think my attorney did.
By Your instructions ?—I don't think that it was.
Did you in 1865 reproach the defendant with not coming to your house ?—I don't remember doing any such thing.
Did Mr. Ray ever invite you to New Brighton ?—I never went to New Brighton.
Did you meet at any time leaving the New Brighton boat, and then go and dine with him ?—I never met him at New Brighton. Mr. Ray is no relation of yours ?—None at all.
He is not married ?—I believe not.
Have you lived with Mr. Ray for several years as his mistress ?—I decline to answer that question. I leave Mr. Ray to answer•it. He paid you large sums of money ?—No. I never was his mistress.
Did he not pay you considerable sums of money?—l never received any money from him except the £4 a month interest. He certainly has made me presents, but has never given me any money.
Did you not tell him that Camus had been living with you in your husband's absence ?—I never told him such a thing.
Was it true?—Utterly untrue.

(more edited out)

Mr Louis Phillipe Camus said he was a sharebroker having an office at No.4 Brunswick-street. He lodged at Mrs Allen's in 1862, 1863 and 1864, and had frequently seen Mr Ray there during that time, especially on Sundays.

He is mentioned in various bankrupty snippets including this rather intriguing example

Sheffield Independent - Saturday 25 January 1873

Quote
BANKRUPTS, (From Friday's Gazette.)
...
Louis Camus, commission agent, formerly the Goree Pizzas, Liverpool row, and 25, Dorset road. The Brook Liverpool.

update: have now seen another version of this from 1873 with his address as “1, Goree Piazzas”
