A possible:

I notice Mary's age is rather inconsistent throughout the various censuses, with 1844 in the 1871 census, to 1836 in the 1911 census! It is clear she was unsure of her birth year, which is not uncommon for the time.

Based on the birth year of 1836:

Mary Parkes, daughter of James Parkes, labourer, and Jane, his wife, baptised on 18th September 1836 in Gelding, Stoke.

In 1841, this Mary is living with her mother Jane and her 4 siblings in Stoke Bardulph.

However, in order to confirm that this is indeed your ancestor, I would strongly recommend ordering the marriage certificate - unless someone on here can find the details for you - which will confirm the name of her father.

If she is this Mary, then her parents, James Parks & Jane Wells, married on the 12th November 1829 in Haugham, Lincolnshire. James is noted as being from Stoke Bardulph.

James was born c.1791 and he was a widower at the time of his marriage to Jane.

Yes, I thought this looked very likely. The original definitely looks like Stoke Bardolph. She is 22, a dairymaid.

The image of the marriage I can view seemingly does not show James as being a widower, or am I wrong. If they married in 1829 as posted James from the below death would have been born c 1808 and would have been 21 at marriage. Going by the 1841 census

George 11  bap 5.2.1830 Gedling, Notts, parents James & Jane Parks
Martha 9    bap 27.11.1831 ""        "         ""                              "
James 7     bap 29.10. 1833 " Gedling   abode Stoke    James & Jane Parkes
Mary 4*   bap   18.09.1836  Gedling abode Stoke     James & Jane (Parkes)
Jane 2

John

Possible death of father,

PARKS, JAMES       32  (C1808)
