Batman info
« on: Sunday 04 December 22 15:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi. Can anyone guide me as to where I can look for information on my husband's grandfather? He served in ww1 and was injured. So when ww2 happened he served as a batman. Could he do this as a civilian or would he need to sign up again  We have no idea on which service this would be also.  Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to Rootschat Rocket 34.

Your post is very generalised and it would be better to be more specific.
A name and some dates would be helpful for searching for information.

Welcome from me too

WW2 service records are still with the MoD.  Are you looking specifically at his WW2 service or also for his WW1 service?

In the UK it was possible for a Batman to be serving in the military or a civilian.

When was your husband's grandfather born and how old was he in 1939?
Have you found him on the 1939 Register?
