I finally signed up for FamilySearch a few days ago

I honestly don't know if I should have bothered. How can one take seriously a site that indexes Gorey Superintendent Registrar's District BMD as being in Co. Donegal?

How many people is this misleading?

Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the ways of FS could alert them to their *large* error.

Shocking!  Totally unacceptable!  Unforgivable!  How is it possible that people in Utah don't know what Gorey Superintendent Registrar's District is and where it is located!

May I ask this then - If they don't know, why do they pretend they do know?

Or is it OK to be ignorant, and just plonk down any old place anyway?

P.S. apart from the availability of, you know, Google, there are other things called maps, atlases, and gazetteers.

They list Gorey SRD as Co. Donegal on individual records. But it is interesting that they actually do know better (contrary to Erato), yet still get it wrong....
