1867 Scottish Marriage
« on: Monday 12 December 22 03:23 GMT (UK) »
Image is parents names from marriage of John STEVENSON and Catherine DUNCAN at Glasgow on 22 Feb 1867.

Grooms parents
John STEVENSON Farmer (deceased) & Jessie STEVENSON ms ??

Brides parents
Hugh DUNCAN Schoolmaster (deceased) & Catherine DUNCAN ms McIVOR

Can anyone say what Jessie's maiden name was please. Believe it might be SCOTT as John and Catherine named one of their daughters Jessie Scott STEVENSON. They named another daughter Catherine McIvor STEVENSON.

Thanks

I thought it looked like Scott too  ;)

This looks a possibility...

STEVENSON JOHN / JANET SCOTT / FR5057
22/06/1845
622 - 180 / 625 BARONY (Glasgow City)

Jessie/Janet are interchangeable.

Thanks guys, I'll take it as SCOTT.

They used the Scottish naming pattern to the letter by the look of it.

1867 - Catherine McIvor STEVENSON - maternal grandmother
1870 - John STEVENSON - paternal grandfather (died 1871)
1871 - Hugh Duncan STEVENSON - maternal grandfather
1874 - Jessie Scott STEVENSON - paternal grandmother
1876 - John STEVENSON - father
1877 - Agnes Duncan STEVENSON - mother's eldest sister

Thanks
