I am trying to find war records for my g.grandfather x2. I have a marriage record for him in 1816 in Llanycrwys, Carmarthenshire area, Wales. I also have a death record for him in 1838 in Carmarthenshire. He is recorded in both as Price Edwards, however the story passed down the family is that on his death bed he admitted that his name was really Edward Price and that he had deserted from the army, hence changing his name. So, following this his children used the surname Price which has then been passed down the generations. His widow and children are recorded as Price in all the censuses. Looking at the dates I guess he would have been in the Napoleonic war. I was wondering where I might find these records and possibly a deserters list. Thanks
