Look up needed for parents
« on: Wednesday 28 December 22 20:12 GMT (UK) »
Hello I’m looking for more information into a John Allen and his wife Margret.

They had the following children which is all I know

William Allen 1815
Elizabeth Allen 1818
George Allen 1827 all baptized in Dudley

John Allen married Margaret Froggett on 26 August 1816 Wolverhampton.

I can’t seem to find them in the census return or any burial record for both Margaret and John in the area!

Can you help !

Hello
The baptism record for William (1815) does not say that he was illegitimate.  Is the marriage date correct?

Elizabeth's baptism in 1818 is non-conformist, with no father's occupation given, but the baptism of William in 1815 states that John Allen was a keeper, as does the baptism of George in 1827 (who was buried the same year).

Based on this, there might have been a 4th child, baptised in Bilston, Staffordshire:

Feb 15th 1829 was baptised John, son of John & Margaret Allen, father's occ: keeper.

Perhaps supporting the Bilston connection is the marriage of an Elizabeth Allen (age 20) to Daniel Jones in 1837. Her abode is given as Bilston; her father is John Allen, keeper.

Elizabeth is living with her husband, Daniel, and her 2 daughters in Bilston in 1841. Also living with them is a John Allen, whose age has been transcribed as '4' on FindMyPast, but looking at the image it could certainly be '11' or '12.' I would imagine this is her youngest sibling, John. The fact that he is residing with his sister makes me think that his parents were already dead by the time the census was taken.

Could this be a possibility for the death of Margaret Allen?

I was thinking about this death registration too.

There is also this Findagrave profile:

Findagrave profiles are created by users of the site, so I'm not sure how much I trust it, but something to keep in mind.

P.S. Not sure who Richard Hickman is on that Findagrave profile. It looks like it could be a mistake? I think it is the user who created it or something like that.
