I am looking for help with researching Bridget Ready.
Bridget was born 1819-1820 in either Bristol or Ireland (I believe it is Bristol) but what I know about her is set out below;
o Bridget was sentenced to 7 years transportation for Larceny in the York,
Kingston upon Hull Quarter Sessions on 2nd April 1840
o Bridget aged 21 years (Police No. 213R) left the Downs harbour on the “Navarino” on 5th
October, 1840 and arrived in Hobart Town on 17th January, 1841.
o Married Bartholomew Williams aged 27 years married Bridget Ready aged 24 years on 9th
May, 1845 in St. George’s Church, Cromwell Street, Battery Point, Hobart Town, Van Diemen’s
Land (Tasmania) the service was conducted by the Rev. Henry Phibbs Fry.
o I also know Bridget used the Ann Ready, she also changed her name to Sarah Anne Ready
later in life.
I am looking for any information on Bridget life prior to her transportation, apart from knowing she was a house servant a Birth Date, Parents Names, Home Town, anything at all that will give me a lead.
