Hi Everyone

My wife is struggling to find the GRO birth details /baptism for the above person, her 2 times gt grandfather.
The above information has been taken from the census records.  Each time he is recorded as being born in Lydiard Tregoze, Wiltshire. Each census shows him living in Hook, Wiltshire approximately 1 mile for Lydiard Tregoze. Potentially born on Hook and recorded as Lydiard Tregoze.
Fathers name : Thomas Embling
Mother: Mary Tidcomb

Any help would be much appreciated and an early Happy New Year to my fellow researchers.

Failure to register a birth only became a fineable offence in 1874/75 so it is not unusual to be unable to find a registration

Cricklade was the RD for Lydiard Tregoze & the first Embling birth reg in that RD was 1849

I wonder if he is the Charles Titcomb baptised in Lydiard Tregoze 28 Nov 1841.  I can't think why since Thomas & Mary were married.  Just a random thought.

The baptism that you found Nell, has Thomas' surname as Titcomb not Embling or variant.  This is a transcription on FindMyPast so don't know what the original says.
