Thanks to help from Rootschat I am progressing with my family tree and discovering that family stories aren't necessarily true!
My latest is the death of the above lady, age 50 in 1921. Supposedly she was in a road accident and killed. They lived in Pendlebury at the time but my great gran said the accident was at St. Michaels bridge.......wherever that may be...where Alice was in a cart and the horse bolted tossing her over the bridge. I have looked in newspaper archives but so far have found nothing to prove or disprove this 'story'.
Any suggestions would be  appreciated.

Her death cert will give the cause of death & will show if an inquest was held.  You can order a pdf version for £7
