Hi Eileen,

Thank you for the information It's been a great help, I know that Matthew was arrested quite a few times in Kinnegad and Killucan for various different reasons and I do have those records I just wish I could find out who his parents were and where they came from.

How would I go about doing that? and I know that Patrick was born in Kildare if thats of any help at all

This looks like Patrick's baptism:

Patt, baptised 26th June 1839 in the parish of Balyna, son of Mathew Glin & Ann Kenny. The Glins abode looks like it could be Kinnegad, but the writing is not particular clear.

It would probably be a good idea to try and find all of the baptisms of Matthew & Ann's children and make a note of who their godparents were, as the godparents were often (but not always) relatives of the parents.

Thank you so much Queenie now I have a date of birth for Patrick  and yes it does definetly say Kinnegad on the record I just wish I could some records on Matthew Glynn I'm constantly running into brick walls with him and I know that the Catholic Records weren't kept If I'm correct for many years

I notice that Mathew's (1841) godmother was a Cath[erine] Glinn. Could she be Matthew's sister?

From What I know the Glynn family was quite large so it is very possible that It could be a sister or even an aunt
