Ridley Shaw and Company
« on: Saturday 21 January 23 14:55 GMT (UK) »

I am undertaking some research on a person (Thomas K G Ridley born in 1895 in Redcar) who was said to be a principal of Ridley Shaw and Company.

Anyone have any details or knowledge of this company?

Thanks,
Paul

No mention of the company in his will according to a family member who has seen it.

According to a newspaper report it closed down in 1958 having been established in 1875 by T D Ridley who built the first railway bridge over the Tees at Croft near Darlington.  Engineers who did repairs especially on steam locomotives.

Address at time of closure Louisa Street, North Ormesby.

Looking at his numerous activities outside the business it's difficult to imagine him at the "office", or, rather "Board Room".
