I think that I would enter it as ? Labourer if I were seamoon  :-\

Many of mine were either coal miners or ag labs!

Yes - at least we know he was a 'Lab' -- looking at the letters again, they look a bit like 'ly' - but then again, I initially thought they were 'Ag' -- so that doesn't say a lot for my deciphering skills!!

That's what I thought in my first post  and thought it might be an abbreviation for railway or ??  :D

The labourer at druggists in the previous census doesn't help , either.
