Will of William Tomkins, Yeoman of Tysoe, Warwick[shire]
Written: 27 Jul 1625 Proved: 27 May 1637
In the name of God Amen, the twenty first day of July 1625.
I William Tomkins of Tysoe, in the County of Warwick, yeoman, being weak or sick in body but perfect in my mind and memory, thanks and praise be given thanks and praise to God, herefore do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
Firstly, I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God, my maker and redeemer, and my body to be buried in christian burial in full and certain hope of resurrection to external life and those worldly goods my God of his goodness has given me I bequeath as followeth:
Imprimis I give to every poor household of this town

Item I give unto my wife 20 pound
Item I give unto my son Richard and to his son William ten shillings between them
Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Darlow ten pounds and to her children 20 pennies a piece
Item I give unto my daughter Joan Somerton ten pounds and to her children twenty pennies a piece
Item I give unto my daughter Margaret, Robert his wife three pounds [Maybe Robert Tysoe]
To Henry that dwelleth with me, I give 10 shillings and two sheep not paid legacy of my will is paid

All other my goods, residue and so bequeathed, my debts paid, legacy and charges and funeral expenses deceased I give and bequeath unto my son Nicholas Tomkins whom I make my full and sole executor.
