Maybe the Inventory  might give a second view of the monetary amounts

…full and certayne hope of resurrection to eternal life …….

…every poore houshoulder of this
Towne {   }  Towne xijd. It(em) I give unto my wife xxs
It(em) I give unto my son(n)e Richard Tomkins, and to his son(n)e
William xli betwixt them.
It(em) I give unto my daughter Elizabeth darlow xijd, and to
her childre(n) xxs a peece.
It(em) I give unto my daughter Jone Somerton xijd, and to her
childre(n) xxs a peece.
It(em) I five unto my daughter Margaret Robert his wife
Three score poundes.
It(em) to henry that dwelleth w(i)th me I give xli and Ten
sheepe, All w(hi)ch sayd legacyes my will is shalbe payd
w(i)thin one whole yeare next after my decease

d = pence, so xijd is 12 pence - ie one shilling
s = shillings, so xxs is 20 shillings, so £1
li = pounds (from the Latin ‘libra’ for pound), so xli is £10
a ‘score’ is twenty, so three score is £60

Still trying to work out what comes between the two 'Towne' words.

Maybe the Inventory  might give a second view of the monetary amounts

This is the Inventory of his goods.
The other clip was his monetary bequests in the body of his will.

It's an interesting Inventory though.
It mentions 'ready money' - ie cash in his pocket or at hand - x li - 10 pounds;
'houshould goodes stuffe'; 'horses, beastes, sheepe, pigges; 'corne and grasse'; 'cartes, ploughes, harrowes'; etc

The total of his goods, 'Sum(m)a totalis', is CCvli 8s iiijd
I can only presume that's an '8' for shillings. I can't think that it's any Latin numeral.

I love all these 'marks' of the appraisors!
It's a bit of a myth to say everybody made a cross for the mark for their name.

Thanks Bookbox.
I thought it must be some Latin word!

You've not posted the first or last bit of the will K Rees.

In your transcript of the whole thing in your first post, near the end you have written
" In witness several of  I give full to my hand ", which doesn't seem quite right.
If you'd like to post that bit, we can have a look.

The line reads:
in witnesse whereof I have set my hand and seale

The date the will was written is the 27th day of July, not the 21st as you have written.
xxvij = 20 + 5 + 2
