Any idea's what this reads - I can only get the last 2 words '...to Canada'.

Thanks - he was always a Private and he was struck off service due to ill health on return to Canada so must be cease something.

I think it's Cease AP, perhaps Assigned Pay ?

I also think it is AP and was investigating acronyms used by the army in WW1 and by the MoD but hadn't come across 'assigned pay' probably because I was looking for the last word being pension, but assigned pay does sound very likely.

Theoretically it could be, but Army Pay and Records Offices relate to British regiments, and this is surely a Canadian (CEF) record.

Assigned Pay was allotted to a soldier’s wife and family, to be paid in Canada while the soldier was serving overseas. So it would make sense that it ‘ceased’ when he returned to Canada.
