1632 Baptism query
« on: Thursday 02 February 23 10:59 GMT (UK) »
Good morning,
I am looking for help completing the following transcription from the 1632 BT's for All Saints' Church, Batley:

Elizabeth daughter of Williy [William] Rayner of Birstall pish [parish] in ? time of pepilenet was baptiz [baptised] October 14.

FYI: the 1632 entries in the Batley Parish register are missing.

Thank you for taking the time to view.

Regards

Janet

I think you might be correct manukarik, it does fit in with the plague years.

I notice your are researching the Hicks family, have you noticed the April 15th entry for John Hicke?

Thanks Janet I'll have a look. I think my Hicks family were from Cornwall but who knows whether they were in Yorkshire before - maybe the mining connection?
