Jane Hicks (Hixs) circa 1780 maybe born in Oxfordshire
« on: Saturday 04 February 23 07:08 GMT (UK) »
Jane Hixs (Hicks) married William Dickson (Dixon) 11 Oct 1802. The marriage record indicates they were both in the Parish of Ramsden Oxfordshire.(Oxfordshire Family History Society; Oxford, Oxfordshire, England; Anglican Parish Registers; Reference Number: PAR236/1/R4/1).

I have been trying to find a baptism for her to establish the names of her parents.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I was wondering where you got her estimated birth year from, but now I see that a Jane Dixon of Ramsden was buried on 25th January 1814 in the parish of Shipton-under-Wychwood. Her age is given as 33 and, as it was the very beginning of 1814, she was probably born 1780. If you could please include these details next time, it would make it easier for us to research and help you with your query.

It is rather hard to search the Oxfordshire records on Ancestry, as they are all muddled up, but I can see that a man called Charles Hicks, living in Ramsden, had at least 2 daughters around this time: Mary (1785) and Nanny (1788). I wonder if they could be Jane's relatives?

Queenie  :)
