Assuming that the county is Yorkshire, then possibly Norland.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I agree with the occupations and Norland, but to me the Norfolk place looks more like Mors than Mora. The nearest I could see in a list of parishes was Morston, which is on the coast near Blakeney, but it's very small - you sometimes find that the further people go from their birthplace, the more likely they are to say it's a more significant place nearby.

Here you might need to bear in mind a Norfolk tendency to alter or simplify pronunciations so that letters which are part of a place name are never sounded. With a census there's also the possibility that the householder's handwriting was poor and the enumerator has misinterpreted it when transcribing it into the book.

So, although the writing here is relatively clear, to understand what is meant you may well need to compare it with other census years, parish register entries etc.

That's intriguing, feno. I can't see it in the maps, gazetteers and websites that I usually use, so can you tell us more about it and where it is, please?

I know Norfolk pretty well but I've never heard of this place name.
Could you give some more detail about the location please?
